BRISBANE Airport is currently still open and operating, with flights
still landing and departing on schedule throughout the night.
Brisbane Airport Corporation spokeswoman Rebecca Masci said staff were
out on the grounds monitoring the situation but were ``confident'' the
airport would not be inundated and the International and Domestic
terminals will be able to continue operations as normal, despite
unprecedented rain and water levels.
Ms Masci credited the airport's ``excellent drainage system''.``We do
have water pumps out on the airfield in case everything was to go
disastrously,'' she said.

THE Port of Brisbane has been closed to all shipping as the Brisbane
River nears its flood peak.
Queensland Emergency Services Minister Neil Roberts said the port

Safety concerns force Queensland Rail to cancel all its overnight
train services and reduce Wednesday timetable
QUEENSLAND Rail are experiencing major disruptions as floodwaters
force the overnight suspension of all train services.
All train lines are delayed until 6am Wednesday morning, with
conditions currently too dangerous to travel on.

Much of the rain that fell in the Toowoomba region, causing
devastating flash floods, is making its way into the Brisbane River.
The Brisbane City Council says more than 200 homes and businesses
along the river are at risk, most at Rocklea, Albion, Milton and
Auchenflower.
Already Queensland Police have advised people who live or are
currently near the Brisbane River at West End to move to higher
ground.
